Ross School of Business, U of M
When I was scouting out buildings to take photos of, this building definitely caught my eye. The modern architecture with the glass and shape of the building was why I chose it. I tried to capture different angles and parts of the large building. This proved difficult when deciding what to keep or cut out of the picture as I was limited to how much the camera could capture. I was happy with the way the photos turned out and the blueprint filter looked very good with this building.
Law Quad, U of M
After taking photos of a modern building, I decided to find a building with older architecture. The Law Quadrangle was in the area and I thought it would be another good building to take photos of. There were many people in the area taking graduation photos, so I had to avoid certain areas which made it harder to take good photos.
Museum of Natural History, U of M
I remembered that they were completing construction on the Natural History Museum so I decided to head in that direction. The modern look of the new architecture along with the contrast of the glass and dark red color of the building led me to taking these photos. I didn't run into many problems taking photo of this building. I did attempt to take photos that weren't too similar to each other which I found challenging because most of the building had the same design.
Thompson Street Parking Structure
Although a parking structure is not as interesting of a building to take photos of, I liked the repetition of the architecture throughout each floor. I liked the way each level looked like it was stacked on top of each other. I did run into the challenge of many people walking or standing in the way of the picture. I fixed this problem in post-editing and just cropped them out.
Institute for Social Research, U of M
I had seen this building from far away and decided to take photos of it as my last building. The architecture of the giant white rectangle were interesting and it reminded me of something out of a movie. It looked like an important government building but more modern. I also ran into the problem of people standing in the front of the building again but I cropped them out later on to avoid this problem.
